Designed for use in Limited Spaces and OEM Applications
Essential Building Blocks for Small Assemblies
4-40 (M3) Tapped Holes and Threaded Studs
Adapters Available for 8-32 (M4) and 1/4"-20 (M6) Compatibility
The Thorlabs Mini-Series is designed to increase the number of optical elements that can be assembled within a limited space. Our mini-series posts are ideal for miniature and OEM-level optomechanical assemblies. Also included in this series are post thread adapters used to interface our standard optomechanics with our mini-series posts and breadboards, or vice-versa.
The HW-KIT5 and HW-KIT5/M screw hardware kits have been introduced specifically to address the fastening requirements of our imperial and metric Mini-Series breadboards and components.

Hi guys. What applications use these mini series posts and mounts? Trying to decide between these and the (less expensive) standard 1/2-in. Post system...also, do you have adapters if I want to use them on a full size breadboard with 1/4-20 holes? Thanks, Lev.

The socket in the thumbscrew for the MSRA90 is a bit to sloppy, this causes the wrench to bind in the socket.

Since this is a "new standard", please consider doing a better job in the main portion of the presentation of pointing out what the new standard actually is, i.e. the post size and threads.

These Mini-Series Ø6 mm posts, which have a 4-40 (M3) threaded mounting stud in one end and a 4-40 (M3) tapped hole in the other end, are manufactured using nonmagnetic 303 series stainless steel.
These Ø12 mm pedestal posts provide a solid mounting structure for our mini-series optical mounts. These posts are made from a nominally nonmagnetic 300 series stainless steel. The top and bottom of the posts have 4-40 (M3) tapped holes. A setscrew is provided already mounted in the top of the post for connecting to our mini components.

16 mm Counterbored Slot for #4-40 (M3) Cap Screw
Swivel Fork ±360° to Pick Up Most Convenient Mounting Hole
Our aluminum clamping fork is designed to provide exceptional clamping force when used with our mini-series pedestal-style posts. Landing pads on the bottom surface of the clamping fork maximize stability when using a #4-40 (M3) cap screw and washer combination to lock down the post/fork combination. Please note that significant overtightening of clamping forks can deform the surface of an optical table, which can cause misalignment of components.
These thread adapters are designed to interface our standard-series and our mini-series optomechanical components. This is a portion of Thorlabs' complete line of thread adapters, which are available for many common thread standards.
