Hi: This is a suggestion to add a soft-tipped set-screw on the side to adapters like the AD8T so that optics can be swapped quickly. This could be in addition to the locking ring, in place of it, or for a separate product. Thanks! --- lasersam

Response from Chris at Thorlabs: Thank you for your feedback. At the moment we currently offer these for the most common sized optics like the 1/2" AD1 and 15mm AD15MM. For the time being, you could use the LMRA8 adapter to get a 1/2" diameter for use with the AD1. I will log your request within our internal discussions to see if we can expand this line of adapters.

Response from Chris at Thorlabs: Thank you for using our web feedback. The 9 and 9.5 in M9x0.50 and M9.5x0.50 call out the major diameter, so these threads are of a different size. To adapt the AC064-015-A-ML to an SM1 threading, you would want the S1TM09 adapter.

Can you confirm if the SM1AD9 can mount (internal threads) the AC064-015-A-ML? The "M9x0.5" vs. "M9.5x0.5" is throwing me off... Thank you!

Could you customize the AD1-2 so that the Ø1" side has SM1 threads? This would allow us to mount a Ø2" optics to the end of an SM1 lens tube or to some other SM1 threaded holders. I think this would also be a nice addition to your adapters

These unthreaded adapters both feature a smooth Ø1" outer surface. The AD1 has a Ø1/2" counterbore while the AD15MM offers a Ø15 mm counterbore; optics are secured against two contact lines using a nylon-tipped setscrew.

These internally threaded mounting adapters are ideal for stress-free mounting of optics with diameters from Ø5 mm to Ø20 mm. Alternatively, retaining rings can be used to hold this adapter in an SM1 lens tube. With a smooth outer diameter, the AD1T is especially well-suited for mounting Ø1/2" wave plates into Ø1" mounts. One retaining ring is included for securing optics in the adapter.

SM1 Series Adapters

The SM1 Series Adapters are internally threaded adapters for optics from Ø5 mm to Ø20 mm. Featuring an SM1-Threaded outer diameter, these adapters are designed to mount with Ø1" lens tubes or other internally SM1-threaded components.
