Response from Buki at Thorlabs to pnstewart: Thank you for participating in our feedback forum. The set screw is 1/8" long but it will not be long enough to hold your lens securely. I have contacted you to learn more about your set up so I can recommend other solutions.

I was wondering how long the set screws are. I would like to mount a 22.2mm device into an SM1 thread (axis alignment not important), and this looks like it could do the trick. Could you possibly suggest a better alternative?

Is there a part which has an *outer* diameter of 1" and SM1 threads? I would find that very useful for integrating lens tubes with components which are designed to hold 1" optics.
