Thorlabs' SM1PD2A is a high-speed mounted silicon photodiode with a spectral response from 200 - 1100 nm. This photodiode has a PIN structure that provides fast Rise/Fall Times (20ns) with a bias voltage of -12V. A external SM1 thread on the main body makes the SM1PD2A compatible with all Thorlabs SM1 mounting adapters.
The SM1PD2A is ideal for measuring both pulsed and CW light sources, by absorption of photons or charged particles and generate a flow of current in an external circuit, proportional to the incident power.
