The MRM05(/M) mount is a lockable, continuous rotation mount for Ø1/2" optics. The mount features full 360° rotation of the mounting carriage, with a marking at every 2° engraved on the circumference of the carriage. The back of the mounting carriage has a knurled edge for easy grip. A setscrew with a 0.05" (1.3 mm) hex is located on top for locking the rotational position. The center aperture is SM05-threaded (0.535"-40) and accepts Ø1/2" (Ø12.7 mm) optics up to 5.8 mm thick. Optics are held in the mount with an included SM05RR retaining ring, which can be adjusted with an SPW603, SPW603L, or SPW801 spanner wrench. These mounts are designed to provide a 10 mm optic axis height when measured from the bottom of the mount to match our Mini-Series Kinematic Mounts. The MRM05(/M) has a 4-40 (M3 x 0.5) mounting stud for post mounting, making this mount compatible with our Mini-Series Optical Post Assemblies. The mounting stud has a length that is optimal for mounting into posts, but can be removed if desired. The mounting hole has a depth of 0.09" (2.3 mm); caution should be taken in choosing a setscrew with the correct length, as damage to the part can occur. ![]()
With a 1.00" (25.4 mm) height and a 0.45" (11.4 mm) thickness, the RSP05(/M) Ø1/2" rotation mount is an ideal solution for compact optical assemblies. The center aperture accepts Ø1/2" optics up to 0.23" thick (5.8 mm), held in place with a SM05RR retaining ring (one included with RSP05). The knurled edge of the RSP05(/M) and the 360° laser-engraved scale marked at 2° increments allow for precise, repeatable positioning and fine angular adjustment. A convenient top-located setscrew can be tightened with a 1/16" (1.5 mm) hex key or balldriver to secure the rotational position of the mount. ![]() ![]() Click for Details PRM05(/M) Mechanical Drawing
The PRM05(/M) high-precision rotation mount for Ø1/2" optics combines 360° of continuous coarse manual rotation with precise, backlash-free adjustment. The SM05 (0.535"-40) threaded inner bore accepts Ø1/2" optics up to 0.23" (5.9 mm) thick as well as any of our SM05-threaded components. Optics are secured between the rear lip and one SM05RR retaining ring, which is included with each mount. The edge of the rotation dial features a laser-engraved scale marked at 2° increments and can be coarsely rotated manually using the knurled ring located on the rear of the mount (see drawing to the right). Values read from the vernier scale can be converted to arcmins by multiplying by a factor of two. The 4-40 setscrew, which is inset into the side of the body of the mount, locks the dial face and engages the adjuster screw for fine rotation. When locked, the adjuster provides ±7° of rotation. The PRM05(/M) is ideal for mounting our SM05PM5 polarizing prism mount, which features compatible SM05 threading. The cover on the SM05PM5 can be rotated, thereby allowing the user to block the two side ports when they are not required. The PRM05(/M) can be purchased bundled with our SM05PM5 (Item# PRM05GL5(/M) below). Together, they provide 360° of high precision rotation for either our 5 mm Glan-Laser or Glan-Taylor Polarizer. ![]() ![]() Click to Enlarge CRM05 Mount in a 30 mm Cage System
The CRM05 is a lockable, continuous-rotation mount for Ø1/2" optics. The mount features full 360° rotation of the front dial face and a setscrew for locking the rotational position into place. External SM1 threads (1.035"-40) allow the mount to be threaded directly onto any internally SM1-threaded device such as SM1 lens tubes or 30 mm cage cubes. The center aperture is SM05-threaded (0.535"-40) and accepts Ø1/2" (Ø12.7 mm) optics up to 0.26" (6.5 mm) thick. Optics are held in the mount with an included SM05RR retaining ring. Two notches along the mount's circumference accommodate the SPW801 adjustable spanner wrench to aid in securing the mount into place. The knurled edge of the CRM05 and the 360° laser-engraved scale marked at 2° increments allow for precise, repeatable positioning and fine angular adjustment. Four equally spaced witness lines are engraved into the mount's perimeter, ensuring there is always a witness line in a convenient and easily readable position. The mount can be locked into position using the 0.035" hex setscrew on the outer edge. ![]()
The SRM05 continuously rotatable optic mounts are designed to work with our 16 mm cage systems. The SRM05 is ideal for mounting Ø0.5" optics up to 0.24" (6 mm) thick in a 16 mm cage system. The KS05RS mount is designed to hold Ø1/2" (12.7 mm) optics in situations where it is necessary to control the tip/tilt position as well as the rotation of the optic. It is also capable of translation along the z-axis, which is accomplished by turning all three tip/tilt adjusters equally in the same direction. The included SM05RR retaining ring allows for mounting of optics up to 0.41'' (10.4 mm) thick. Additionally, SM05 (0.535"-40) lens tubes may be threaded onto the mount to accommodate thicker optics. Thorlabs' Kinematic Rotation Mounts combine the features of our Precision Kinematic Mirror Mounts and Manual Rotation Mounts, providing continuous 360° rotational adjustment, ±4° kinematic tip/tilt adjustment, and 0.25'' (6.4 mm) of linear Z translation. These mounts are therefore ideal for holding optics with rotational The rotation of the mount can be locked in position using the 4-40 locking screw (0.050" [1.3 mm] hex). Three 1/4"-80 adjusters with brass bushings provide smooth kinematic adjustment. Each adjuster may be locked with a locking screw using a 5/64" (2.0 mm) hex key. If higher adjustment resolution or control is desired, the 1/4"-80 adjusters used in this mount can be switched with DAS110 or DM22 Differential Adjusters. Please note that while this mount is designed to hold Ø1/2" optics, the mount uses the same form factor as the KS1 Ø1" mirror mount in order to incorporate the rotation ring.
