Thorlabs PM103 Optical Handheld Power and Energy Meter - Firmware Changelog --------------------------------------------------------------------------- This firmware is a device internal program for PM103 Optical Power and Energy Meters series. The following devices are supported: PM103, PM103A, PM103U Installation Instruction ------------------------ In order to update the PM103 firmware, the firmware image (file extension *.dfu) and the Thorlabs Firmware Update Tool are required. The DFU Wizard is a software tool to upload a firmware image to the PM103. You will find it installed to your computer after downloading and installing the Thorlabs Power Meter Software package from our web site. There (tab "Firmware") the up-to-date firmware image can be found as well. Please download it and remember the location on your computer where you saved it to. 1. Connect the PM103 with the supplied USB cable to the computer with Thorlabs Power Meter Software package installed. The computer recognizes the connected device and installs the required driver software. 2. Start the Firmware Update Tool from Startmenu > All Programs > Thorlabs > Device Firmware Update Tool > Thorlabs Firmware Update Tool 3. In the Welcome screen click Next > to continue. 4. Click Browse to select the downloaded *.dfu file, then Select and Next > to continue. 5. In the Select Target Device the PM103 should be listed. Select the PM103 and click Start. 6. The update tool software switches the PM103 to DFU upload mode and begins to transfer the firmware image. The progress can be observed at the Update Tool. Do NOT interrupt the process, this may cause your PM103 to become inoperable! 7. When the transfer has completed click Finish. The Update Tool application closes, and the PM103 reboots with the new firmware. 8. Opitonally: To double check the update you can use the remote SCPI interface with the command "*IDN?" to verify the new version manually.
